Proposals & Scope of Work

Mike Hoffmann

Vending Machine Expert

Master the art of crafting effective proposals and scopes of work to ensure clarity and trust in business agreements.

Proposal & Scope of Work

This section covers Mike's exact plug-and-play proposal system that moves deals from conversation to contract—quickly, clearly, and without confusion.

One-Page Deal Closer

Start with a client overview: Property company name, main contact’s name and title, plus their top pain point (e.g. 24/7 food access, no extra workload). Then present the solution at a glance: smart machine, micro market, or locked cooler café. Location: lobby, breakroom, or clubhouse. Cost: $0 install and service. If there’s a revenue share, list X% after fees. Product mix includes fresh meals, healthy drinks, and impulse buys. Clarity wins deals.

Scope, Timeline & Support

Spell out scope of work: your team handles install, stocking, maintenance, insurance, reporting. The client provides space, outlet, Wi-Fi, and signage approval.

Timeline: decision → contract → install in 2–3 weeks. Include a first-week burn-in for staff training and ops support.

The call-to-action: approve the scope, sign the agreement, and schedule delivery. It’s frictionless, fast, and transparent.

Contract Terms & Alignment

Your contract should formalize all terms: responsibilities, services, revenue share, and termination clause or clawback terms.

This sets clear expectations and protects both parties. Use it post-pitch to reinforce verbal alignment or finalize decisions. Once inked, it’s time to polish the brand front-end. In the next lesson, Mike shows how to create flyers, a lean website, and social posts that make you look pro without wasting time in Canva.

Complete the following exercises:

1. Reflect on a current or past proposal you've encountered in your professional life. Consider how the proposal addressed the client's key pain points and whether it provided a clear scope of work. What improvements could have been made to enhance clarity and trust?

2. Create a mock proposal for a hypothetical client, focusing on a clear presentation of the solution, the scope of work, and the cost structure. Share your proposal with a peer for feedback on clarity and comprehensiveness.
