Marketing Flyers & Collateral

Marketing Flyers & Collateral

Mike Hoffmann

Vending Machine Expert

Master the art of crafting compelling marketing flyers and collateral to ensure your business stands out and captures attention.

Why the Flyer Is Your #1 Sales Tool

After a pop-in, your flyer does the selling for you. Most times, the receptionist hands it directly to the decision-maker. What you said will be forgotten—but your flyer decides if you get a meeting or get tossed. That makes it your most powerful marketing asset. Always carry a printed copy and a PDF version for follow-up emails.

What to Include in Your Flyer

Eye-Catching Visuals

Use photos of Stockwell, Micro Markets, or open market setups from providers like Cantaloupe or VE. This helps managers visualize your service as an amenity upgrade.

Key Value Props

  • Family-owned business – a strong contrast to corporate vendors.

  • Remote inventory tracking – ensures machines stay stocked.

  • Zero cost to property – a major win for decision-makers.

  • Better-for-you options – especially appealing in locations like hospitals.

Contact Info

Include your name, phone, email and a QR code so they can reach you effortlessly. Keep it clean, concise, and professional.

Collateral Toolkit for Every Pop-In

Your full toolkit should include:

  • Marketing Flyer (visual-heavy, minimal text, with clear value)

  • Business Card (always leave one, and collect theirs)

  • Gift Basket (stocked with products from your machines)

  • Proposal/Contract Template (optional but shows readiness)

  • Reference Sheet (only if you have solid locations—otherwise omit)

These tools reduce friction at every stage. If the receptionist forgets your pitch, the flyer fills the gap. If they don’t talk to the manager, your proposal and contact info do the work.

Friction-Proofing Your Sales Process

Remove every potential blocker:

  • If the receptionist forgets your offer, the flyer explains it.

  • If you don’t meet the manager, you still leave a full leave-behind package.

  • If they want more assurance, a reference sheet gives social proof.

Your toolkit ensures you stay in control. Stick to this system to maximize conversion on your pop-ins and turn interest into deals.

Complete the following exercises:

1. Reflect on a recent flyer or piece of collateral you received. Consider how effectively it communicated the key message and value proposition. What elements could have been improved to capture your interest better? Use this analysis to inform your own marketing materials.

2. Create a draft of a marketing flyer for your own product or service. Focus on incorporating the key elements discussed: visual appeal, value proposition, and clear contact information. Share it with a peer for feedback and use their insights to refine your design.
