Course Mindset & Expectations

Mike Hoffmann

Vending Machine Expert

Develop a mindset for success by setting realistic expectations and leveraging strategic systems to thrive in the vending industry.

Clear Eyes, Real Expectations

Mike emphasizes that this program only works when you enter with realistic expectations. What you put into vending will determine what you get out of it.

Every new Vendepreneur starts with fear. Mike battled the same four fears: no business background, fear of financial loss, mechanical issues, and skepticism around whether vending really works.

By following each module step-by-step—from bookkeeping and KPIs to diagnostics and repair—you’ll learn how to start lean and scale intelligently.

Common Fears & Misconceptions

Worried a machine might break? You’ll learn how to diagnose issues and know exactly who to call. Think it sounds too good to be true? It’s not magic—vending is retail with fewer moving parts.

Don’t have experience? Neither did Mike. Concerned about investment risk? Vending requires far less capital than real estate. Afraid of repairs? This course shows you how to manage issues without becoming a mechanic.

This is not a scam or get-rich-quick scheme. It’s a business. And the results you want depend on the effort you commit.

Sales Confidence & Mindset

The biggest hurdle for many is selling to locations. Mike explains that success in sales is 80% mindset. It’s about professional persistence.

Like baseball, vending sales is a numbers game. The more at-bats—outreach, follow-ups, pop-ins—you take, the more wins you’ll have.

Targeting niches like manufacturing, healthcare, or high schools can lead to major wins. The key is to follow the sales playbook and process rather than overthinking the outcome.

Time Management & Process Alignment

Build Around Your Life

You must build this business around your existing life—not the other way around. Mike started vending to reclaim time, not to lose more of it.

Even if you only have two hours a week, plan outreach around errands like grocery runs. The goal is to create a business that supports your lifestyle.

Structure, flexibility, and balance are the key goals. This isn’t about quitting your job overnight. It’s about gradual, scalable ownership of your time.

Systematize Everything

Systems are the foundation of a stress-free vending business. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) may not be glamorous, but they create freedom.

Having clear systems helps you identify fit. If someone can’t follow the system, they’re likely not the right hire—and that’s okay.

The more documented and automated your systems are, the less you have to micromanage. It creates a business that runs without constant oversight.

Delegation Over Time

Delegation should be earned and strategic. Mike didn’t hire a full-time operator immediately. He started with a part-time stocker for 3–4 hours a week.

This person only restocked—they didn’t order inventory or represent the brand. Over time, as trust was built, that role expanded.

Today, that same person is a full-time general manager with full schedule control—stocking in the morning, handling orders in the afternoon, and picking up kids from school.
